Daily or weekly habit goals?
A daily goal answers: what do I want to do on a particular day? A weekly goal answers: what amount do I want to complete before the week ends? The useful choice depends on how the habit fits into your life.
Choose daily when timing matters
Use a daily goal when repetition on chosen days is the point. A glass of water with lunch or a ten-minute practice on weekdays has a natural place in the day. Keep the target small enough that it still makes sense on an ordinary, imperfect day.
Choose weekly when days need to move
Use a weekly amount when the total matters more than which day carries it. “Read 30 pages this week” can become five pages one evening and twelve another. You can make progress without pretending every day has the same capacity.
Review the friction
After a week or two, ask whether the schedule helped you begin. If you repeatedly postpone a daily goal, fewer selected days may be clearer. If a weekly target always waits until the final evening, lower the amount or give yourself a midweek checkpoint.
